As an avid junkyard junkie and someone who works primarily with the stuff that other people consider trash. I think about where things come from and where they go a whole lot. The people at the Story of Stuff are an amazing crew. Their videos are super informative and painful to learn about some hard facts:
(99% of all consumer products purchased in the U.S. are put in the trash within six months. 99%. Think about that! Every piece of packaging around the food you buy (whether at home or in a restaurant). Every single use of plastic.
We have 5% of the world's population, we consume 30% of the world's resources and we generate 30% of the world's trash.
But most importantly, they have created ways that you, me and anyone can actually get after and make changes in our day to day, that affect positive change amongst the madness.
